ABPCO will hold its Festival of Learning on 29–30 April at Nottingham Venues.
The two-day event is aimed at association and not-for-profit event professionals, with a programme built around the theme “Connect, Collaborate and Learn”. The event is CPD accredited and those attending can claim development credits.
Content has been developed by ABPCO’s learning and development taskforce, led by Jessica Letters, head of events at the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and Gema Rodriguez, managing director at TFI Lodestar.
The programme was built around feedback from ABPCO’s annual member survey.
Speakers and sessions
Keynote speakers include Geoff Ramm, described by Forbes Magazine as a “game changer” presenter, and Sasha Frieze, author of The Chief Events Officer’s Playbook. The programme will feature a session on bidding strategy, “Stronger Together – The Bid Advantage”, delivered by Seren Events and the Midlands Growth Network. There will also be a session about work efficiency called “Work Smarter Not Harder – Tools and Frameworks That Give Events Teams Back Their Time”, led by Johnny Martinez of Crowd Comms.
There will also be sessions purely for fun – including “Create your own Terrarium!”.
Alongside the core programme, the event will include networking sessions and informal activities, with organisers also highlighting opportunities for attendees to explore Nottingham.
Event delivery will be supported by Sheer Edge Events.
Subsidised student places
ABPCO has also introduced 10 subsidised student places, funded by ACC Liverpool, as part of its strategy to support new entrants into the industry.
Matt Stalker, executive director of ABPCO, said: “The Festival of Learning is an incredibly popular industry event and well supported by our industry partners and sponsors. We’re expecting a record turnout this year, building on the success of last year’s event.”
