Sleek Events has appointed Georgina Oppenheimer as US-based director of events marking a significant step in the Independent Experience Partner’s international growth and its response to increasing client demand in the US.
Oppenheimer brings more than a decade of experience designing and delivering live experiences, festivals and brand events for organisations including UEFA, TikTok, Bloomberg and Apple.
With a background spanning architecture, design, production and experiential delivery, Oppenheimer combines creative thinking, strategic leadership and operational expertise. She has built a reputation for creating experiences that inspire, educate and entertain, while leading complex projects and developing strong client relationships.
Oppenheimer will lead Sleek’s flagship US projects while helping to establish and grow its presence in the market. Her remit combines project leadership with client growth, new business support and the continued development of Sleek’s US operation.
The appointment reflects Sleek’s independent model. Founder-owned and led since 2013, Sleek has grown without outside investment, giving it the freedom to make decisions around what is right for its clients, its people and its long-term ambition.
That independence has enabled Sleek to respond directly to growing client demand in the US, moving quickly to establish local capability while retaining the connected team, agility and accountability that underpin its approach.
Sleek’s US business is expected to generate approximately $12m in turnover this year across existing clients, with plans to establish more full-time US-based roles as the operation continues to grow.
Jennifer Davidson, founder and CEO of Sleek, said: “The US is an important part of our growth story, and what’s exciting is that we’ve been able to respond to what our clients are asking for. That’s one of the things I value most about being independent. It’s not simply about ownership. It’s about agility – having the freedom to put our clients first, invest in our people and grow in a way that feels right for the business.”
She added: “Georgina is a brilliant addition to that next chapter. She brings an unusual combination of creative experience, commercial thinking and production expertise, but just as importantly, she has a real energy and people-first approach. I’m excited to see what we build together.”
As Sleek expands internationally, the company is deliberately focused on building “scale that stays close” – combining global capability with the personal relationships, agility and accountability of an independent business.
The approach is already demonstrated through Sleek’s long-standing client partnerships. Its relationship with AWS, which began in 2015, has grown from a single event into Europe’s largest cloud technology summit, now attracting more than 24,000 people annually.
For Sleek, this combination of scale and closeness is central to its growth. Its clients work with one connected team, with the same people shaping the thinking, making decisions and delivering the outcome.
Oppenheimer said: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Sleek at such an important point in its growth. What attracted me was the combination of ambition and genuine care for how that ambition is delivered. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to Sleeks event portfolio, leveraging my strong relationships locally and working with the wider Sleek team to create experiences that inspire, educate and entertain, while delivering real value for clients and their audiences.”
Oppenheimer’s appointment follows a period of sustained growth for Sleek, which has expanded from a team of five in 2020 to over 60 employees today while continuing to invest in its leadership, infrastructure and international capability.
As Sleek continues to build its international footprint, the ambition is clear: to give clients the capability and reach of a global partner, while maintaining the agility, accountability and genuine closeness that have defined Sleek since its founding.
