The Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow has appointed Campbell Arnott as senior sales and business development manager within its conference sales team.
Arnott joins the SEC after 16 years at the Glasgow Convention Bureau, where he worked to attract international conferences to the city. In this role, he will help drive the SEC’s international association strategy, working with the venue’s city partners to strengthen its position as an international conference destination.
Arnott said: “Glasgow is one of Europe’s most attractive and accessible congress cities and the SEC is its anchor, combining world-class facilities with an incredible delegate experience… I’m really excited at the opportunity of playing a much bigger role in securing future business and helping to bring even more success to the SEC and the city.”
The appointment comes after a strong year for international association conferences for the Scottish venue. This year the SEC hosted the American Geophysical Union’s Ocean Sciences Meeting, held outside North America for the first time, and the ERA Annual Congress, Europe’s largest nephrology conference, which drew record attendance. Recent wins also include the 25th IET International Conference on AC and DC Power Transmission and the International Congress of Mathematicians in 2030.
