Eventful Conversations, a networking series focused on candid career discussions in the events industry, held its second edition this month.
The series was founded by Elly Walsh of I Am Recruitment and Jenny McNeill of Feast & Fable. Its inaugural event in September sold out within a week, drawing more than 160 event professionals.
The format brings together in-house brand teams, agencies, creatives and suppliers for panel discussions about career realities in the events sector. The latest edition featured speakers from Shopify, Airbnb, Google Cloud, Seen Presents and Nobody’s Café.
“I spend my days talking to people about their careers the good, the bad and the ugly and I found myself thinking, wouldn’t it be powerful to get these stories on a stage and into a room together?” said Walsh. “It’s clearly struck a nerve. There’s a real appetite for honest, unfiltered conversations about what this job really looks like.”
McNeill said the series aims to create a space for genuine conversation beyond traditional networking formats. “Eventful Conversations is the kind of space I wish had existed when I was starting out – then maybe networking wouldn’t have felt so petrifying,” she said.
Eventful Conversations will return later this year.
