CTL Communications has opened a Miami office, putting a permanent team on the ground in the US for the first time. The agency expects to generate more than $22m in revenue in 2026, with around a quarter of that already coming from American clients, according to the company.
CTL was founded in 2009 by Catherine Turner, who started the agency from home after the company she worked for closed down. It has grown quickly since: from around five staff to close to 100 within five years, with published revenue rising from £5m in 2019 to over £13m in 2024. This release is the first time CTL has quoted its figures in dollars rather than pounds, a small but telling sign of where its growth is now concentrated.
The agency has built its reputation largely in healthcare communications, and has separately invested in Sacher AI, a partnership focused on AI-enabled behaviour change, as part of a wider push into new products and research.
The Miami team combines CTL staff relocating from elsewhere in the business with new local hires. “Our clients took us to America before we took CTL there,” said founder and chief executive Catherine Turner. “We’ve already built a substantial US business through the work we’re doing with our clients. Now we’re putting a team on the ground and investing behind that demand so we can be closer to them.”
Turner said CTL considered buying an existing US agency before deciding to build its own operation instead. “We looked seriously at acquisition, but decided that building was the right answer for CTL. Our culture and the way we work with clients have been fundamental to our success. We want to build on that culture rather than simply buy scale,” she said. “This isn’t about becoming bigger for the sake of it. It’s about increasing the impact we can make for our clients.”
