Mark Taylor has announced he is leaving his role as chief executive of the Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Centre in Westminster after 12 years, citing family commitments.
Taylor joined the venue in 2013 and has overseen a major refurbishment programme that modernised its facilities. During his tenure, the Centre’s annual revenues nearly doubled, from £9.6m in 2013/14 to £17.6m in 2023/24.
Reflecting on his time in post, Taylor said: “Serving as CEO has been a fantastic and rewarding journey. I am immensely proud to have worked alongside such a talented team of professional staff and partners, and the wider events community in London and beyond. I wish them, and the Centre, continued success in the years ahead.”
The QEII Centre, owned by the UK government and operating under the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, remains one of London’s largest dedicated conference and exhibition venues with 32 event spaces across 32,000sqm.
The ministry thanked Taylor for his leadership and confirmed that arrangements for appointing a successor will be announced shortly.
