Women in Events Retreats is hosting a two-day winter retreat in Surrey this January. The Women in Events Winter Retreat takes place 30–31 January 2026. It will be held at De Vere Horsley Estate, near Guildford.
The retreat targets women and non-binary professionals working in business events and is positioned as a structured break focused on wellbeing, reflection, and professional reset, at a time when many events teams report sustained pressure and fatigue.
The programme is aimed at senior leaders, freelancers, and teams, with organisers stating it is designed to support focus and energy ahead of 2026 planning cycles.
Across two days, delegates will take part in guided sessions which combine physical activity, time outdoors, and facilitated group work, intended to link personal wellbeing with workplace performance.
Activities include restorative yoga and somatic movement. These sessions focus on reducing stress and physical fatigue.
The programme also includes forest bathing, which takes place outdoors and is designed to support focus and resilience.
Delegates will also complete vision mood-boarding and goal-setting sessions, which are framed as tools to translate reflection into work priorities, alongside guided mindfulness practices and facilitated group discussions.
Networking forms a structured part of the agenda, with participants take part in small-group sharing sessions with peers from across the events industry.
The retreat was created by Women in Events Retreats co-founders Lucy Eden and Gabrielle Austen-Browne. Both work in wellbeing, inclusion, and sustainability within the events sector.
Eden said: “This retreat is about giving back to ourselves. Personal wellbeing is the foundation of professional success.”
The first edition of the retreat, which sold out, was held at Tewinbury Farm and attendees included senior industry figures.
Feedback included comments from association and agency leaders. Shonali Devereaux, CEO, of the Meetings Industry Association said: “The retreat was the single best thing i’ve done for myself this year.”
Event leader, Priyah Narain added: “This retreat was transformative, time away to reflect and reset made me sharper, calmer, and more strategic at work.”
The January retreat includes overnight accommodation and meals and all programmed sessions are included. Ongoing peer support is offered through a private professional community after the event.
The retreat can be funded through wellbeing, D&I, L&D, or training budgets and it is open to professionals at all career stages.
