Liverpool will host the Youth & Student Travel Summit for the first time when the annual business event comes to the city on 5-6 October 2026.

Organised by the British Educational Travel Association (BETA), the summit brings together UK suppliers, attractions, accommodation providers, destinations and experience providers with international buyers developing youth, student and educational travel programmes to the UK.

The main event will take place at Liverpool Football Club on 6 October. Hosted buyers will also take part in a familiarisation trip across Liverpool City Region from 5-8 October.

The hosted buyer programme covers accommodation, meals, local transport and full access to the summit. Buyers represent organisations that collectively send thousands of young people to the UK each year, creating business opportunities for destinations, attractions and accommodation providers.

BETA is also encouraging tourism and hospitality businesses in the region to attend, with a discounted registration rate available for local organisations.

Natalie Wyatt, managing director of Liverpool City Region Destination Partnership, said: “We are delighted that Liverpool City Region has been chosen to host the Youth & Student Travel Summit for the first time. Youth, student and educational travel play an important role in building future visitor markets, encouraging cultural exchange and showcasing everything our city region has to offer. Hosting this event provides a fantastic opportunity to introduce influential international buyers to the region’s world-class visitor experiences and to help local businesses develop valuable new trade relationships.”

The summit is the UK’s flagship business event for the youth, student and educational travel sector. Alongside pre-arranged meetings between buyers and suppliers, the familiarisation programme gives international buyers the chance to experience the destination first hand before developing future itineraries.
