The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has launched EICC Gateway, a new service designed to support event bids and improve the delegate experience.

The programme provides organisers with a single point of contact for accessing the venue’s network of hotels, suppliers, partners and city stakeholders.

Services include accommodation support, delegate discount packages, site visits, and introductions to academic and industry experts, professional conference organisers (PCOs), destination management companies (DMCs), venues and event suppliers.

EICC Gateway will also provide support around event impact and legacy initiatives.

Carron Webster, sales and marketing director at the EICC, said: “Organisers today are looking for more than just a venue, they want a partner that understands the destination, can open doors to local connections and help create experiences that delegates will genuinely remember.”

As an example, Webster highlighted the recent Pensions UK Investment Conference, which was held in Edinburgh for the first time this year. Through the EICC’s Future Leaders programme, 30 final-year students from Heriot-Watt and Edinburgh Napier universities were connected with government ministers, regulators and industry leaders.

Webster added: “With EICC Gateway, we’re able to support organisers far beyond the venue itself. Whether it’s strengthening bids, connecting them with the right partners across the city or helping shape meaningful delegate experiences, we want to make it easier for events to have a lasting impact on both their audience and Edinburgh as a destination.”
