In a bold move that reimagined the crypto event experience, Total Management Group (TM G) partnered with online trading platform, Robinhood to deliver a hybrid experience that captivated both live attendees and a global virtual audience of over 21 million viewers. The event, titled “To Catch a Token”, set a new industry standard within the Web3 event space by blending cinematic storytelling, immersive environments and world-class production.

Hosted in a stunning private chateau in the heart of Cannes; sourced, contracted and produced by TM G, this milestone event marked Robinhood’s strategic entry into the European crypto market. TM G were tasked with showcasing the significance of Robinhood’s Bitstamp acquisition, as well as introducing a series of new products to a high-profile audience of institutional investors, top traders, and Web3 innovators. The experience unfolded during Robinhood’s Diamond Sponsorship at EthCC and featured a bespoke keynote speaker outside in the beautiful grounds of the chateau.

Mark Wynohradnyk, senior brand manager at Robinhood said: “TM G transformed an already iconic venue into something unmistakably Robinhood, layering in premium, elevated touches to create a cinematic experience that felt both intimate and grand, perfectly capturing the spirit of the occasion.”

Highlights of the hybrid experience venue transformation

A historic château, never before used for public events, was transformed into a fully branded Robinhood experience for 300 elite guests, with an elegant outdoor keynote, live product demos and immersive scenic design, including a bespoke Robinhood branded pool. TM G built an environment rooted in intrigue, Riviera glamour and cinematic storytelling, aligning with Robinhood’s high-stakes, forward-thinking brand identity.

TM G’s in-house design studio wove Robinhood’s “To Catch a Token” theme into every detail, from scenic design to branded touchpoints. Rather than over-branding, the team embraced subtlety and elegance: a custom Robinhood topiary, faux stone signage, and immersive cues gave the feeling the brand had always existed within the venue’s lush surroundings.

The experiential design encouraged high-end networking, premium hospitality, and social shareability, elevating the event beyond a typical crypto conference and reinforcing Robinhood’s global leadership ambitions.

Global livestream broadcast

A complex, multi-camera, cinematic broadcast experience was delivered flawlessly from a challenging outdoor location. Anticipation and excitement for the keynote stream was increased with a teaser trailer that was curated, filmed and edited on location within two days of the event, complete with C-Suite involvement.

The cinematic opening sequence, featuring drones, a vintage Jaguar rig shoot, and a multi-day production schedule, set a new tone for crypto keynotes and generated thousands of live comments across platforms.

Virtual reach, ROI and media coverage

The livestream was viewed by 21 million plus people across platforms (YouTube, X, Robinhood’s app). The event gathered 218+ global media placements, including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, CNBC, MarketWatch, Reuters, and Fortune.

The innovative hybrid approach created an equal in-person and virtual experience, not separate streams, but a single cohesive narrative, establishing a new benchmark for Web3 hybrid event design.

Drone light show

A showstopping drone performance visualised Robinhood’s brand story in the sky, a bold and memorable moment that captivated all attendees. The 500-drone show was choreographed to music by world-renowned DJ Sigala and quickly became one of the most shared visual moments of the entire campaign.

Mastering complex challenges

Producing a large-scale hybrid event at a delicate, historic, and technically limiting venue required creative problem-solving and logistical mastery. TM G engineered a freestanding stage to protect the integrity of the château, supplied supplementary generators and a complete power distribution system to counter unreliable infrastructure, and maintained full weather contingency plans, ensuring a smooth guest and broadcast experience, despite unpredictable Mediterranean conditions.

A new benchmark for hybrid events

This event proved that a hybrid experience can serve both in-person and digital audiences equally, not as separate streams, but as one seamless, immersive story. From exclusive on-site moments to a world-class broadcast, TMG created a holistic experience that resonated with everyone involved.

Jay Hammonds, head of technical support services at Robinhood said: “TM G’s masterful execution allowed this event to be even brighter than our vision. To catch a token event was a huge success thanks to everyone at TM G. Outstanding planning and flawless execution. They brought our vision to life and created an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. We can’t wait to partner with TM G again for future events.”

Nick Macrae, marketing leader, Robinhood added: “The partnership, professionalism and autonomy TM G have demonstrated throughout the process was invaluable. We trusted their ability to deliver exceptional event strategy and execution, enabling our team to connect the event experience with our surrounding marketing campaigns and product launches and bring Robinhood’s vision to life on a global stage.”
