One of Scotland’s most experienced events teams is entering a new chapter, after the Scottish Events Campus (SEC) has confirmed that QD Events will rebrand as SEC Creates

The move reflects the SEC’s ambition to bring all of its event creation expertise together under a single, recognisable brand, reinforcing the SEC’s position as not only one of Europe’s premier events campuses, but as the creator of some of Scotland’s biggest, most-loved and longest running events.

The news comes as IRN-BRU, the nation’s iconic soft drink has confirmed it has committed to another year as headline sponsor of the IRN-BRU Carnival, one of SEC Creates’ flagship enterprises and which has been running since 1919.

The rebrand of QD, which is a long-established part of the SEC, aligns with the SEC’s overarching Creating Incredible strategy which sets the standard for everything the organisation delivers across its iconic venues. A key pillar of the strategy is a commitment to innovation and excellent service.

For more than 40 years, the team behind SEC Creates has delivered award-winning consumer events that connect communities, inspire audiences and create meaningful opportunities for exhibitors, sponsors and partners.

Today, its portfolio connects more than 700 exhibitors, sponsors and partners with over 160,000 visitors every year through experiences including The Scottish Wedding Show, The Scottish Motorhome, Caravan & Holiday Home Show and the iconic IRN-BRU Carnival.

Alongside welcoming some of the world’s biggest conferences, exhibitions and live entertainment, the SEC has built a reputation for developing its own successful event portfolio, creating incredible experiences that bring people together and contribute to Scotland’s thriving events industry.

Recent successes include Our Moment LIVE, the official FIFA World Cup™ watch parties at the OVO Hydro, which welcomed more than 15,000 supporters for Scotland’s three group-stage matches and demonstrated the creativity, ambition and event delivery expertise that exists across the wider SEC team.

Dom McKay, chief executive of the SEC, said: “The team at SEC Creates has built an exceptional reputation over many years, creating some of Scotland’s most successful and enduring events. This rebrand recognises that achievement and the expertise that already exists within the business.”

He continued: “People know the SEC as one of Europe’s leading event campuses, but we’re also creators of incredible events in our own right. SEC Creates highlights the expertise that sits together under one brand while recognising the outstanding work the team has been delivering for decades.”

“Bringing SEC Creates more visibly into the SEC family creates even greater opportunities to innovate, grow audiences and enhance the experiences that exhibitors, partners and visitors already know and trust.”

Greg Cherry, managing director of SEC Creates, added: “This is an exciting evolution for SEC Creates. While people will see a new name, they’ll continue to work with the same team that has built these events over many years. This rebrand brings together our heritage and our future ambitions under one identity. It allows us to collaborate even more closely with colleagues across the SEC, helping us continue to innovate, strengthen the visitor and exhibitor experience and create even greater opportunities for the communities we serve.”

He continued: “Everything we do starts with people. Whether we’re helping couples plan their wedding, bringing families together at the IRN-BRU Carnival or inspiring visitors to plan their next adventure, our focus remains on creating exceptional live experiences that people love. Our exhibitors, sponsors and partners can continue to expect the same trusted relationships, the same experienced team and the same commitment to delivering outstanding events.”
