SET-JET 25, the first-ever World Screen Tourism Summit has unveiled a sneak-peek at its two-day conference programme.
The main conference, held on 21 November at Birmingham’s ICC (International Convention Centre) will feature a keynote session with British Film Commission’s CEO alongside the producer of The Crown and CEO of Left Bank Pictures.
Further newly announced speakers include Visit Svalbard’s CEO, Ronny Brunvoll.
Brunvoll will share his experiences filming in Svalbard, one of the world’s northernmost inhabited territories administered by Norway, which has appeared in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning and as Superman’s Fortress of Solitude in the recently released Superman film.
Jakob Mueller, who manages filming and photography for Austria’s beautiful Palaces of Schoenbrunn, is another international voice on the speaking roster, and joining from the UK are Harvey Edgington, the National Trust’s respected senior filming & locations manager, and Visit Scotland’s film & creative industries manager, Jenni Steele.
The summit begins with a SET-JET gala dinner on Thursday 20 November at the Birmingham Council House Banqueting Suite.
The event is expected to attract up to 200 senior tourism, media and business personnel, and will take place from 7pm to 11pm, with a special guest speaker to be announced.
Two days of familiarisation visits are also available for selected tour operators, travel agents, location managers and production executives after the main conference to showcase filming locations and attractions on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November.
