New details released for UKickstart event

UKickstart, a nationwide live and virtual gathering of event professionals, has released new details of the event which will take place on 8 September from 2-4pm.

The free-to-attend event, organised by etc.venues and supported by other UK industry associations, will bring together meeting and event professionals at a series of live hubs in venues throughout the country to network with industry colleagues.

Attendees can register to attend the event in-person at any live hub. Up to 30 people will be able to attend in person at each venue.

Central to the event is a panel discussion about the state of the industry and its future. Panelists will include Nigel Huddleston MP, parliamentary under secretary of state for sport, tourism and heritage at the department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), Tracy Halliwell MBE, director of tourism, conventions and major events at London and Partners alongside Simon Hughes, chairman of BVEP.

Adam Simpson, leader of UKickstart and director of marketing at etc.venues, said: “This is a time for industry unity. That’s why we are supporting One Industry One Voice and #WeCreateExperience, Project Confidence, the Red Alert and Mash Media’s #GetBritainMeeting campaign. We are already in discussions about practical co-operation with them and expect to announce more news shortly.

“Throughout lockdown so many associations and organisations have shown enormous commitment and determination first to ensure that as many businesses in the industry survive and to retain the vast pool of talent and more recently to be ready for reopening, fit for the future and to kickstart the recovery. There is still a lot to do.”
