Meet Cambridge launches ‘Ready For You’ campaign as event enquiries take off

Meet Cambridge has launched ‘Ready For You’ in partnership with more than 40 of its member venues to encourage people to plan ahead for events as and when face-to-face gatherings are allowed.

The campaign is being rolled out as the bureau is receiving a growing number of enquiries for events from June onwards. March has been its busiest month for an entire year with enquiry levels up 116% on February and worth an estimated £829k.

‘Ready For You’ focuses on four key areas that will give event organisers reassurance as they plan ahead: enhanced hygiene, flexible booking terms, solutions to help with hybrid events which offer the potential to combine in-person and online attendance and sustainable practices. By participating, venues are demonstrating their commitment to providing these features and flexibility.

Judith Sloane (pictured), head of Meet Cambridge, said: “As we get closer to a re-opening date for face-to-face events, we have partnered with our member venues to ensure they are in the best possible position to welcome clients and meet a new range of requirements. The uncertainty of the last year has shown us that flexibility is key for those organising business meetings, celebrations, lunches and dinners. That’s why we have created ‘Ready For You’ so you can book ahead with confidence, knowing that the venues offer flexible terms should plans have to change.

“We also wanted to highlight our venues’ success in implementing enhanced hygiene procedures and their commitment to sustainability. Most of our venues have been open for essential meetings and educational purposes throughout the pandemic and when they can reopen for other events, organisers will be in safe hands as venue teams have a year’s worth of experience in welcoming groups of people to meet safely and successfully.”

Sloane added: “This launch coincides with Meet Cambridge seeing a surge of enquiries for future events of all kinds which clearly demonstrates that people are keen to get meeting again in a safe way. We can’t wait to welcome events back to our city and share our wide range of unique venues and extensive open green spaces.”
