Leading UK agency does its bit for charity

Creative communications agency drp volunteered at the Barons Court Project in Hammersmith, London, 29 August, as part of the team’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The Barons Court Project is a charity that has been running for 33 years and it supports people on low incomes who are vulnerable to mental health or homelessness.

A total of 5 team members from the London team participated in the BBQ, which was arranged by the charity. The team’s involvement on the day included speaking to those who attend the centre, helping to serve and clear up after the barbeque and ensuring that all the guests had a great day.

Ryan Curtis–Johnson, head of PR and marketing commented: “We were grateful to Baron’s Court Project for allowing us to help them with their BBQ. It’s good to see the team come together and step away from the day job and give something back to those in need. Giving back to a community costs nothing but your time and by speaking with the individuals it’s clear that this particular project provides vital support to the local community. It was nice to speak with the guests and hear their stories. A huge thank you to the Barons Court Project for having us.”

Michael Angus, director of the Barons Court Project also added: “We were so delighted to have the drp team come and visit us and be a part of our community here at the Barons Court Project. It’s really important to have visitors to reduce the stigma around mental health and homelessness, in order to build connections to the wider community. Our group at the project really enjoyed speaking to the team, as many live alone or are homeless, so having that human contact is just want they needed to brighten up their day. drp did a great job at talking and engaging with the group and helping clear up after the BBQ. We were so thrilled for the various gifts which will be put to good use in the life of our community. A huge thank you, and we hope to see the drp team again.”

To help support the Barons Court Project charity, the drpteam collated a variety of household items, such as tea, coffee, and shower gels for each person to take away and keep for themselves. This is one of many CSR projects which drp team members take part in throughout the year.
