Fly in to a fresh Yorkshire welcome at Doncaster Sheffield Airport
Doncaster Sheffield Airport is giving passengers a new, warm welcome to the region following the installation, 24 July, of the 'Welcome to Yorkshire' branding in the terminal and a revamped tourist information centre.
The refurbishment is a joint investment between the airport and tourism board Welcome to Yorkshire as part of a longstanding partnership to boost business tourism to the region.
The tourist information centre was officially opened by Welcome to Yorkshire CEO, Sir Gary Verity.
Visitors will receive a warm welcome on arrival and be able to get information about the county, together with offers and promotions to venues, museums, country estates and attractions across the region.
Flybe’s Embraer 195 jet, meanwhile, has been spreading the ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’ message across Europe with its livery.
Steve Gill, CEO of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “We take our role as ambassadors of Yorkshire very seriously. We already know how fortunate we are to live and work in the area and it is up to us to make sure that every visitor who arrives here through our airport has the opportunity to learn about what’s on offer.”
Sir Gary Verity added: “The striking new branding throughout the terminal is a magnificent way to officially welcome people to Yorkshire when they arrive. It’s been a pleasure to continue our strong partnership with Doncaster Sheffield Airport and unveil the newly refurbished tourist information centre, which is sure to inspire visitors to explore the many highlights that the county has to offer during their stay.”
