Central Hall Westminster to host Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai

Central Hall Westminster has announced that it will host global education activist, human rights campaigner and teacher Ziauddin Yousafzai alongside his daughter, the world’s youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai.

The special one-off event, titled Ziauddin and Malala Yousafzai In Conversation, will be held on Saturday 10th November 2018. It coincides with the launch of Ziauddin’s new memoir, Let her Fly.

The discussion will explore Ziauddin’s passionate campaigning for girls’ education and lifelong fight for equality. Ziauddin and Malala will be interviewed by Konnie Huq, one of Britain’s most loved presenters.

In this rare live appearance, Malala and Ziauddin will together explore his campaigns, their work for the Malala Fund and Ziauddin’s campaign for equal rights – proving there are many faces of feminism. Special guests of Malala and Ziauddin will also appear.

Ziauddin’s new book is a poignant and optimistic portrait of parenthood and modern feminism, by a father determined to raise his daughters and sons in an equal world.

Paul Southern, managing director of Central Hall Westminster, commented: “We are so honoured to be hosting human rights campaigner Ziauddin and his incredible daughter Malala to our venue.

“Over the years, we have hosted a number of other Nobel Peace Prize laureates including Dr Martin Luther King Jnr and Mikhail Gorbachev. In addition, some of the early Suffragette meetings were held here and the first ever United National General Assembly in 1946, so we have a long history of supporting equal rights.”

The event, presented by Fane Productions in partnership with Penguin, is open to all by ticket entry. A copy of Let Her Fly by Ziauddin Yousafzai and Louise Carpenter (WH Allen, £14.99) is included in the ticket price.
