Adele Woods to step down as managing director of Make Events

Manchester based events agency, Make Events, has announced that managing director Adele Woods, will be stepping down from her role at the end of July.

This comes 13 months into her position at the agency.

Woods joined Make Events as its new managing director in July 2025, bringing with her over 25 years of experience in the events industry.

Woods said: “It’s been a hugely rewarding 13 months as part of a business with so much creativity, ambition and heart. Together with Holly Bennett and the team, we’ve brought greater clarity to the business strategy, aligned our vision and mission, strengthened the way we work and built the foundations for Make’s future. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.”

She added: “A real highlight has been the people. It’s been a privilege to work alongside such a talented and passionate team, and I’ve loved watching everyone embrace new challenges and changes, support one another and continue to grow. I’ve learnt a huge amount, made some wonderful friendships and leave with nothing but respect and admiration for Holly, everyone at Make, and all those I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I’ll be supporting the transition over the coming weeks before handing over, and I know Make has an exciting future ahead.”

As the company moves into its next chapter, CEO and founder of Make Events, Holly Bennett, will be leading thew business with a clear focus on brand, creativity and building relationships with clients.

In a LinkedIn post, Make Events said: “While we’re really sad to see Adele go, we’re incredibly grateful for everything she’s brought to Make during her time with us. From shaping our strategy and aligning our vision and mission, to strengthening our culture, supporting our team and introducing new ways of working, Adele has had a significant impact on the business. She has led Make through an important period of development, leaving strong foundations for the next stage of our journey.”
