Whilton Mill kart circuit gets facilities makeover
Daventry-based commercial kitchen and restaurant interior design company, Catering Design Group (CDG), has completed a design project at Whilton Mill, a 1,200m kart circuit in Northamptonshire.
Whilton Mill is a popular circuit for top-level kart racing, but also provides a relaxed venue for conferences, meetings and private functions, as well as its domestic karting business.
CDG has designed and installed a full-service kitchen and an attractive, multifunctional catering/function space in Whilton Mill’s new club house to support the development of the venue’s hospitality business.
CDG’s challenge was to create an open plan space that could transition seamlessly from day use as a café/casual restaurant to night-time with a fully licenced bar.
Steve Hutchings, director of CDG, said: “As Whilton Mill is open seven days a week and hosts a wide range of corporate and private events, from race nights to corporate team building activities, parties and national product launches, it was important that our design concepts appealed to a diverse client base.
“Working closely with our client, we created a welcoming space with a contemporary industrial feel using a rich colour palette and lighting to create warm undertones.”
Whilton Mill offers a range of activities including karting, quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, archery, segways, off-road buggies and more. The venue hosts events ranging from corporate conferences, meeting and product launches to children’s karting parties and full family fun days.
Roger Ashby, managing director and founder of Whilton Mill, added: “This latest investment is about enhancing the venue experience for our visitors and delegates. It was great to work with CDG to realise our vision and they brought a creative energy to the project that was completely in tune with our innovative approach here at Whilton Mill.”
