Hire Space to host Adapt with Arena event series
Hire Space has announced that it will be hosting Adapt with Arena event series, which will begin at 11am on 6 May. The event aims to look at the issue of Covid-19 certification in events, and call for a consensus across the sector.
Speakers including Simon Hughes, chair of the BVEP and Max Bull, chair of the Association of Event Venues, will discuss the issues around Covid certification and how they will affect venues and event professionals as the UK emerges from lockdown.
Moderated by Martin Fullard (pictured), editorial director of Mash Media, and also featuring Rhiannon Kirk, head of sales at Wembley Stadium and London Stadium, the panel will discuss the potential requirement for delegates to provide proof of vaccination, natural immunity or a negative test ahead of attending an event.
Felicity Cator, head of EventLAB, said: “This is a topic of huge importance to event professionals across the country, and we’re delighted to have such an influential panel in place to talk through the big issues and how they’ll affect us all. Achieving consensus will be critical for ensuring we stay in sync with other sectors.”
Following the first government pilot events held in Liverpool on 27 April, event organisers and suppliers are now waiting for clarification from the government on additional measures which may need to be taken before larger events can be held.
The Covid-19 certification session is the first of three events in the Adapt with Arena series, which will also cover key skills for event organisers post lockdown (27 May) and opportunities for building a career in events (24 June). The series will be hosted on Arena, an online and hybrid events technology platform built by Hire Space.
