Condé Nast appoints new head of events

Global media company, Condé Nast, has announced that Patrick Garrigan has been appointed as its SVP, global head of events.

He joins Condé Nast from Bloomberg, where he was global head of events, Bloomberg Live. Prior to this, Garrigan worked at The Atlantic for five years as its executive director of business development, where he led partnerships and event innovations for AtlanticLIVE events around the world. He has also held roles at POLITICO and the experiential marketing agency, MAG. 

Garrigan will be responsible for developing and implementing the company’s global events strategy and adding new offerings to its events. He will also bolster Condé Nast’s consumer revenue efforts by identifying new opportunities to transform its brands into experiences and tentpole consumer events for its audiences and partners.

For this new role, he will be based in New York, reporting to Condé Nast’s CFO, Jackie Marks. 

Marks said: “I am pleased to announce that Patrick Garrigan will join my leadership team in the newly created role of SVP, global head of events which will accelerate our growth ambitions for our events business.

“There are a variety of teams that currently execute events across our brand and commercial teams and Patrick will be working in partnership with all of them, including Eric Johnson who leads events in the commercial team.”

He will officially begin his new role on 13 December 2021.
