Guidance update: Meetings Industry Association updates resource
The roadmap, which was initially published as part of the mia’s comprehensive package of business support and has been signposted in the government’s guidance for the sector, now features updated protocols all designed to provide essential reassurance to encourage clients to place bookings.
The association is advising the sector that the guidelines – which have been incorporated into their new AIM Secure accreditation criteria – are used in conjunction with its contract guidance, miaTrustedTrace and new powerful business intelligence tool miaTouchstone.
Jane Longhurst (pictured), chief executive of the mia, said: “As part of our role to champion best practice and standards within the industry, the mia continues to carry out extensive national and international research to develop the recommendations for the sector. However, our Roadmap to reopening and operating safely is a continually evolving working document. It is essential that venues adopt it alongside any further government updates as they are driven by the latest science and medical advice.”
In addition to the mia’s practical business support tools, the association continues to offer an agile and diverse events schedule to support the recovery of the sector.
Next week communication expert Richard Newman will be presenting a pertinent session on Mindset: Presence under pressure to help challenge any anxieties and stress and promote wellbeing. This will be followed with a popular Connect Agent event specifically tailored for venues to facilitate networking opportunities with esteemed booking agents.
