With prime minster Boris Johnson set to reveal plans for the UK’s economic recovery post-Covid-19 this week, it will be critical for all industrial sectors to embrace the reopening of business together.
With the news that the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP) revealing that they are promoting the concept of a distinction between ‘organised events’ and ‘mass gatherings’ to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, Mash Media is launching a new campaign: #GetBritainMeeting

When lockdown restrictions are eased, organisers will lead the way in ensuring public safety at their events, as other industries will be looking to reconnect with their partners and clients through exhibitions, conferences and other live experiences. Ensuring the safety of the public is crucial, and event organisers must have this front of mind.
With a large portion of the public still concerned about the risks surrounding Covid-19, despite any future easing of lockdown restrictions, event organisers will need to take extra measures in matters of hygiene and people management.
‘Organised events’, as opposed to 'mass gatherings' can be managed to respect social distancing, in ways such as attendee flow, capped capacity, to track and trace attendees, and be able to respond to public health requirements far more quickly than other unorganised gatherings could be managed. The technology already exists.
