Earls Court and Olympia (EC&O)
Venues is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Charitable Trust by
partnering with a new children’s support campaign launched by
Hammersmith and Fulham Council.
The new Opportunity Fund aims to
give children looked after by the council access to the same
opportunities for personal development as their peers. Support could
include extra tuition, sports equipment or driving lessons. The scheme
launched on 20 October at Hammersmith Town Hall and EC&O Venues
offered the first business donation of £5,000.
The Opportunity
Fund will now be part of the venue’s Charitable Trust, which has raised
more than £200,000 for local causes since its inception. Other charities
it has supported include Horniman’s Adventure Playground, Children’s
Safety Education Foundation, Age Concern - Kensington and Chelsea and
the local Victim’s Support.
“We can’t think of a more fitting
way to celebrate the Charitable Trust’s landmark tenth anniversary than
supporting such a worthwhile and rewarding cause,” EC&O Venues Commercial Director Anna Golden said.
“The
generous contribution from EC&O will make a real difference to the
lives of our looked after children and has enabled us to get the
Opportunity Fund up and running,” added Helen Binmore, Hammersmith and
Fulham Council Cabinet Member for Children’s Services.
