EICC development The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has announced it will open its new Lennox Suite expansion space next spring (8-11 May 2013) with a poster display at the 2013 International Investigative Dermatology Conference (IID 2013).

The EICC expects 2,000 delegates to register for the quinquennial event, the first to occupy the £30m Lennox Suite, and organised by the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) on behalf of the European Society for Dermatological Research, the Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology and the Society for Investigative Dermatology of the United States.

The poster exhibition is a key component of the event and 1,500 metre-wide academic posters will make a metric mile continuous display allowing international delegates to participate in an open exchange of information and ideas.

“The expanded EICC has the scale we need for a full scientific programme with separate trade and poster exhibitions in a city centre location and being the first to occupy a new space always has delegate appeal,” BAD’s Conference and Events Services Manager, Chris Garrett said.

“We are delighted that a major International Association event will be first to experience Europe’s most technologically advanced events space,” EICC CEO Hans H Rissmann OBE said. “Our mission is to bring international delegates to Edinburgh and Scotland and our new capabilities in the global events marketplace will help us attract and sustain new levels of business tourism.”

The 2,000sqm Lennox Suite features a hall-wide moving floor system for transformations from flat floored exhibition space to tiered theatre and arena setups in a fraction of the time required in conventional halls.
