International
hospitality, travel and hotel company, Carlson, has recruited a new
President and CEO. Trudy Rautio will take up the post following the
resignation of Hubert Joly, who had been in the position since 2008.
Joly will become CEO at US retail company Best Buy.
Carlson is the $4.5bn management company behind international hotel brands such as Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson; The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group; and international event management agency, Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
Prior
to her current position, Rautio served as President of Carlson Hotels,
Americas, with overall responsibility for the operation and growth of
the company’s four hotel brands in North and South America.
In
the company’s 74-year history, Rautio, who has been a senior executive
at the Minnetonka-based Carlson office for 15 years, has only been the
fifth CEO at the family-owned company.
Carlson operates in more than 150 countries with 1,300 hotels and 900 restaurants.
