EIBTM Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE), the organiser of European Incentives, Business Travel and Meetings exhibition (EIBTM), has announced plans for a touring summit dedicated to offering a bespoke service to stakeholders and meeting the growing demand for education and training in the meetings industry.

The first of this new series of ’EIBTM Talks’ is ’EIBTM Talks Technology’ which will take place in Gdansk, Poland, on 28 August and then in Belgrade, Serbia on 30 August.

"The joint project with EIBTM is not only a great honour for us but also a huge opportunity," says Gdansk Convention Bureau CEO, Anna Gorska. "Technology standards within the industry are advancing at a fast pace. We’re happy that EIBTM has noticed our activities and is willing to support them."

In addition to the ’EIBTM Talks’, Gdansk recently hosted the World Credit Union Conference (WOCUU), 15-18 July. Former President Lech Walesa visited the congress and talked to delegates.

The ’EIBTM Talks Technology’ sessions will include presentations from industry experts such as Shuli Golovinski, CEO of NewtonStrand, on ’Generation Y&Z’ which will focus on how industry professionals need to embrace technological innovation to enhance attendees’ learning styles and experiences at an event. Other experts include Ewan MacLeod, Editor of Mobile Industry Review on ’The Mobile Revolution’, and Adi Ben-Nesher, MD at Event Skills on ’Improving the attendee journey’.

"We are excited about the potential of the new ’EIBTM Talks’ sessions and we feel that by reaching out and supporting the industry, we will be able to help drive it forward through providing insight and knowledge into key issues," says Exhibition Director of EIBTM, Graeme Barnett.

The first two ’EIBTM Talks’ will be focused on technology but RTE says each will be adapted to meet with the particular needs of the local market of the host city.

EIBTM 2012 takes place in Barcelona on 27-29 November.
