With the world’s top golfers battling it out at Royal Lytham and St Annes this week at The Open, next year’s official hospitality programme has already been put on sale.
The Open moves to Muirfield in Scotland for 2013 and on-course hospitality packages approved by golf’s governing body The R&A are the only official packages sanctioned.
The decision to put the Muirfield 2013 programme on sale during The Open Championship at Royal Lytham and St Annes is in anticipation of high demand, according to The R&A’s Director of Marketing, Robin Bell.
“Our official hospitality programme gives our corporate customers the location they want, on course, close to the action, and they have the additional comfort of knowing their advance purchase is secured by us and tailored to meet the highest standards of customer service.”
The top two fine dining restaurants at Muirfield will be housed in a new fairway-edge, double-deck, pavilion overlooking the ninth hole and sharing the viewing location with a complex of exclusive-use suites. Additionally, a bistro-style restaurant in the tented village will be set up to meet the needs of smaller businesses and golf fans.
The facilities at Muirfield benefit from a £2m investment comprising a new double-deck pavilion, enhanced event TV and leaderboard information, a commitment to sourcing local produce and higher hospitality staff levels.
Muirfield’s Open hospitality packages for 2013 offer ticket and on-course hospitality and range in price from £250 to £699 per person and feature priority parking and fast track entry.
