Chartridge Conference Company has invested £25,000 in a major upgrade to its Wi-Fi broadband coverage at all four of its conference venues in the Home Counties and West Midlands.
Visitors can now access the free Wi-Fi service in all areas within each venue.
“With more and more customers requiring access to broadband during their stay, we found that although we provided a free Wi-Fi service, our systems were being stretched to the limit and didn’t provide the range of coverage that they needed,” said MD Peter Darnell.
“We have not only upgraded to the maximum bandwidth currently achievable at each of the venues, but we have also invested in the very latest fully managed system. This balances access to the service evenly throughout each centre according to demand and means that all our customers can now receive a free high-speed Wi-Fi service whether they are in the conference rooms, rest areas or working in their bedrooms.”
The new Wi-Fi system had to take into account the traditional construction techniques used in these historic buildings including the thick stone walls and floors to ensure that effective Wi-Fi reception could be achieved in all areas. Additional transmitters had to be installed in strategic locations, but after several weeks of rigorous testing, the system has passed with flying colours, according to Darnell.
“Chartridge has established a reputation for quality service but we never rest on our laurels. This new investment underlines our policy of responding to customer expectations.”
Chartridge Conference Company now manages four dedicated conference and meeting venues (Chartridge, Hitchin Priory, Lydiard House and The Beeches), following the sudden closure of its fifth property, The Node in Codicote, late last year and its sale for housing development.
