National Maritime Museum The Olympic Torch will pass by 20 Unique Venues of London (UVL) members in its approach to the Olympic Park.

The members will line the route that the torch will take in the days before the official opening ceremony.

The Greenwich venues to be passed on 21 July are the Cutty Sark and the National Maritime Museum, which includes the Royal Observatory and the Queen’s House, followed by east London’s Christ Church Spitalfields.

The Olympic Torch relay will set off from Laban on 23 July at the start of its journey through Lewisham, a venue designed by Herzog and de Meuron who also designed Beijing’s Birds Nest Olympic Stadium.

The torch will then pass the Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising on 24 July, and venues to be passed on 26 July include Guildhall, LSO St Luke’s, the Museum of London, Roundhouse, Royal Hospital Chelsea, the Saatchi Gallery, Shakespeare’s Globe, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tate Modern, Wellington Arch and Whitechapel Gallery.

Hampton Court will be the final UVL member to see the torch at 5.30am on 27 July before it continues to the Olympic Park.

"We are extremely proud that our iconic UVL members are making history in undoubtedly London’s biggest year. It is an honour to be part of the fantastic atmosphere in the days leading up to the Olympic Games and to contribute to photo opportunities for Londoners and visitors to the city" says Head of Commercial Programming at the Royal Opera house and Chairman of UVL, Moya Maxwell.
