Convention bureau VisitBrighton has won its bid for the Labour Party Annual Conference in 2013.
Expecting to generate £20m economic impact into the city, the conference, September 2013, is set to attract 8,000 delegates and visitors.
The Labour Party Annual Conference will be hosted by the Brighton Centre, which now boasts a newly-furnished 4,000-seat auditorium, enhanced meeting facilities and views of the Brighton beachfront following its £1m redevelopment programme in 2011.
“The entire city of Brighton is delighted with this event which will be a fantastic showcase for us,” said Head of Tourism and Leisure at Brighton and Hove City Council, Adam Bates.
VisitBrighton is the official destination marketing unit for the city of Brighton and Hove.
The Labour Party held its 2011 Annual Autumn Conference at ACC Liverpool. Manchester is to host the flagship conference in 2012.
