Hotel, travel and conference and event management company Expotel and their Wiltshire-based specialist events division Venues Event Management attracted 100 meeting planners and bookers to its first Expotel Collection supplier showcase.
The showcase was held at Swindon Town Football Club on 20 January and exclusive to members of the Expotel Collection, the marketing package aimed at independent hotels and venues.
Since its inception in November 2009, the Collection has generated in excess of £16m of business for its 500 members.
Expotel Trade partners also showcased innovative, green solutions and cost efficient products.
The event also featured presentations providing attendees with an overview of 2011 and forecasts for 2012 from senior managers at both Expotel and Venues Event Management.
“This is the first conference focused showcase we have organised and holding it on the doorstep of our conference specialist Venues Event Management made perfect sense,” Head of Partner Services Mark Bevan, said. “These events give our conference Expotel Collection partners the opportunity to interact with and promote their offering to active bookers. This also saves our bookers time as they get to talk to over 35 venues and other related suppliers in one hit.”
Expotel’s services in the UK and overseas had a turnover of £180m in 2010, including over 20,000 conferences and one million bednights. The agency employs 400 staff from offices in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Stockport and Swindon.
