The Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA) and the Association of Event Venues (AEV) have agreed to a single director working across both associations.
Current ESSA director Chris Skeith, who has been working the dual role for the past few months, will take on permanent overall responsibility for the management of both associations with immediate effect.
“The close working relationship that already exists between the two associations has been fostered through joint working parties and common aims and practices that I wish to continue,” said Skeith.
ESSA chairman Steve Barratt said Skeith’s in-depth knowledge about both associations would “make us all more effective by bringing us closer together, while still maintaining the independence of each association”.
Graham Stephenson, chairman of the AEV added: “Chris has proven that this role is not only possible, but one which adds value by improved communications and understanding.”
