Glasgows unveils new webcast service for meetings

UK conference and event management company, Glasgows, has launched a new webcast service, EventCast.
The system, the agency claims, enables online delegates to use interactive technology to feed responses back into an event for instant display and analysis by the presenters and audience.
“It’s about getting real-time data relayed from votes and questions, not just about feeding comments back as other systems on the market,” says Glasgows director, Paul Leeks.
The system combines live camera, synchronised presentation slides, live questions/chat and audience interaction all on one web page, facilitating additional delegate participation online.
Leeks says using the system can bring “huge cost reductions in delegate travel, venue hire, catering and AV production”. It also offers video on demand of concurrent conference sessions.
Glasgows partners on the EventCast project include facilitation experts, Wilson Sherriff, filming and broadcast agency Indivisual and interactive technology specialists Event Technologies.
Glasgows head of business development, George Thompson, says “It’s a great example of agencies coming together to develop a solution that’s tailored to the events industry. Our initial demonstration on 24 August was viewed by the COI, NHS Institute, Salford University and KPMG so we know that the interest is out there”.
Delegate requirements for EventCast are a flash enabled PC and an internet connection to gain an experience that Glasgows claim “is as close as being at an event without actually being there”.
