Park Plaza makes acquisitions in Leeds and Nottingham

Park Plaza Hotels has acquired the hotel properties it currently manages in Leeds and Nottingham. The Park Plaza Leeds and Park Plaza Nottingham had previously been operated under management agreements.
This move, says the group, strengthens Park Plaza Hotels’ market position as owner and operator of city centre hotels. The company says it will invest further in both properties. Park Plaza Hotels’ President and CEO, Boris Ivesha, says: “We are very pleased to add these two landmark hotels to our portfolio and are excited about the long-term prospects both hotels offer. Renovation programmes for both hotels will be planned shortly.”
Park Plaza Leeds opened in 2003 and offers 185 guestrooms and suites. It has 11 meeting rooms with space for up to 140 delegates.
Park Plaza Nottingham opened in 2002 and offers 178 guestrooms and suites, 12 meeting rooms and space for up to 220 delegates.
Park Plaza Hotels operates 2,893 rooms in the UK and is looking to expand its global portfolio of 7,000 to over 13,000 by 2012. International projects under development include Park Plaza Marrakech (2010), Park Plaza Nuremberg (2011), Art’otel amsterdam (2011) and Art’otel london hoxton (2013).
