According to data compiled by online hotel booking company HotelMap, 75 per cent of delegates and visitors using the program booked 4-star hotels, which have an average room rate of £160.
Also, 19 per cent of bookings were with a 3 star hotel (average rate £110) and six per cent were with a five-star hotel (average rate £241).
The average four-star rate is a seven per cent increase on the second half of 2009.
Launched 18 months ago, HotelMap is specifically designed for the meetings and events market.
