Loughborough University hotel and conference brand, imago, is moving over to a range of eco-friendly toiletries.
The Burleigh Court site has introduced the ‘BeeKind’ range of Gilchrist and Soames products into its four-star hotel. Proceeds go to sustainable pollination research at the University of California.
Each product claims to be made from 100 per cent natural ingredients with no artificial colours or dyes, with its packaging providing a 59 per cent reduction in materials and a 92 per cent reduction in the space it takes up in a standard bin.
“We gave our customers the chance to choose from a wide range of environmentally friendly products and as this came out on top, we know that they are going to be very popular,” says operations manager at Burleigh Court, Guy Hodge.
Imago was the 2010 winner in the ‘Excellent Social Responsibility’ category for large hotels at the HRS Hotel Excellence Awards and Gold in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
