Plans have been announced for a repeat of the first industry collaborative Summer Summit following its success at the ICC London Excel last week.
‘Today’s Challenges, Tomorrow’s Vision’, organised by ICCA, ABPCO, MIA and AIPCO, attracted around 120 high profile names in the events industry.
They debated a host of issues including: the role of technology in the future of meetings and conventions, means of attracting international business to UK and Ireland, the challenge of managing crisis and risk and how the industry can attract the best emerging talent and promote to them the huge variety of jobs it has to offer.
“The debate represented the first truly collaborative event held between four of our industry’s most well known and respected associations,” says director of conferences and events at Excel London and chair of ICCA UK and Ireland Chapter, James Rees. “It brought together a huge resource of knowledge and experience and demonstrated just how well the industry’s bodies can work together.
“There has already been a lot of interest in a repeat Summit for 2011, with other top associations including MPI keen to become involved,” he adds.
