MeetGreen on board with IMEX America in Las Vegas

IMEX America has appointed an official sustainability consultant for its show next October.
The IMEX Group and its partners will work closely with MeetGreen to set green standards for transport, food and beverage at the event, 11-13 October 2011 at the Sands Expo Convention Centre in Las Vegas.
IMEX CEO, Carina Bauer, says IMEX America will be a unique trade show model. “The show will have three core pillars to it that will make it unlike any other trade show in the US: the largest hosted buyer programme in North America, combined with a unique online appointment system; a focus on high quality professional education supported by our Strategic Partner and major educational providers, MPI, and a dedication to sustainability and innovation.
“We intend to do our utmost to meet - and set - some very demanding green standards for IMEX America and MeetGreen’s expertise and guidance, as well as its excellent industry partnerships, will play a fundamental role in helping us achieve our objectives.”
IMEX claims environmental best practice has been at the heart of its business since its first trade show for the international meetings industry in Frankfurt eight years ago. IMEX in Frankfurt, this year, reduced its total waste output by 30 tonnes compared to 2009 and reduced paper and cardboard usage by 15.5 tonnes. The company sets itself targets also for the recycling and reuse of a wide range of other materials including carpeting and visitor badges.
