The Royal College of Nursing’s (RCN) Congress 2009 has won an International Stevie Award for best tradeshow or convention at The 2010 International Business Awards, as well as earning an honorary medal.
More than 1,700 entries were received from organisations and individuals in more than 40 countries. The awards will be presented at a gala dinner on 27 September at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey.
“Staff across the RCN worked incredibly hard to deliver the congress for our members,” says chief executive and general secretary of the RCN, Dr Peter Carter. “The fact the event was successful is testament not only to the hard work, but to the key role the RCN plays in making the nursing voice heard.”
RCN Congress 2009 was attended by almost 6,000 UK delegates and keynote speeches were made by former Prime Minister, Gordon Brown and current Prime Minister, David Cameron.
