Man City warm up the hospitality hot seat

As Roberto Mancini shells out for the Sheikhs on new players, Manchester City Football Club is also gearing up success off the pitch, with a 58 per cent rise in seasonal hospitality bookings for the 2010/11 season.
A £1.5m overhaul of The City of Manchester Stadium’s corporate hospitality facilities includes a refurbishment of all the 68 executive boxes and an overhaul of the Legends Lounge and The Boardroom, the club’s premium dining facility.
Renewal or upgraded hospitality rates for clients for next season is already at 85 per cent, the club reports, and over three-quarters of the 68 Platinum Boxes have been snapped up.
In a first for any Premier League club, 240 leather heated seats, a luxury previously afforded to guests in the Director’s Box, will this week be installed in The Boardroom external seating area. The sky blue seats stand 44” tall and warm to an ambient heat in less than two minutes.
City’s head of sales, David Chell, says: “With like-for-like seasonal sales up 58 per cent, this is one of the Club’s finest pre-season sales performances.
“Thanks to the club’s increased profile and improved football performance, we have seen a marked increase in the number of new clients enquiring about hospitality packages,” he adds.
City entertains 75,000 corporate hospitality guests a season, serving 12,000 dishes to 3,000 guests per game.
The club claims its research shows 40 per cent of its clients agree quality business deals get done on a matchday, where hospitality is involved.
