The newly opened Cedar Court Grand Hotel and Spa has joined the portfolio of the official tourism body, York and Scarborough Conferences.
Since joining the venue collection, the hotel has acquired - with the help of York and Scarborough Conference - the Cats Whiskers Conference, estimated to attract more than 30 former Masters of City of London-based livery companies for three days in September.
“The completion of The Grand is fantastic news for Yorkshire as it will provide a five-star venue for both business and leisure visitors,” says chief executive of regional development agency Welcome to Yorkshire, Gary Verity. “Business tourism is worth £1.6bn to the Yorkshire region and I’m confident the addition of The Grand will assist in raising this figure even further.”
York and Scarborough Conferences is a partnership between Visit York and the Yorkshire Moors and Coast Tourism Partnerships, supported by Welcome to Yorkshire, City of York Council, Scarborough Borough Council, Yorkshire Forward and other tourism businesses.
