Return on investment (ROI) has been voted as the biggest challenge facing the conference industry at the ICC Birmingham’s first Client Symposium.
The forum, which was to create open dialogue with the venues key customers about their event needs and venue expectations, also asked guests if they could foresee conference and meetings activity in the next 12 months increasing.
In response to this question guests said they are already seeing signs of business increasing in the next 12 months.
“We have fostered long-standing relationships with these organisers and have asked them to join us in providing a cross-section of opinion on how they view the conference and meetings industry as a whole and what they are looking for from a modern venue,” says ICC’s GM Geoff Fenlon. “For us at ICC, it is important we don’t stand still but move forward hand in hand with our customers so we need to know what they want in the future. How do we do that? We ask them!
"Through this symposium we’ve established an ICC Client Advisory Panel. Their feedback and insight will enable us to develop our partnering approach and help us all get through the current choppy waters, ensuring that The ICC is fit for purpose,” says Fenlon.
