The founder of the Prima Hotel Group has been awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
Liam Walshe was awarded by Her Majesty for his charitable work on crime prevention and safety in schools throughout the country.
Walshe says: “I am honoured to have been awarded the OBE, however, it would not have been possible without the support of all the organisations on the panel, the police, parents, pupils, teachers and many other people in our community. I would like to thank them very much for all the time and hard work they put into making these schemes so successful.”
Walshe is currently MD of the Prima Hotel Group, based in Cheadle. He formed the company in 1998 and the group now operates six luxury hotels in England and Scotland including the Nunsmere Hall Hotel and the Stanneylands Hotel in Cheshire, the Quorn Country Hotel in Leicestershire, Hellaby Hall Hotel in South Yorkshire, Matfen Hall Hotel in Northumberland and the Royal Terrace in Edinburgh.
