Cumberland sold to Starwood and L&R in Europe’s largest deal this year

Starwood Capital and London and Regional have bought the 1,000-room Cumberland Hotel at London’s Marble Arch in a deal estimated at £215m.

The joint venture has bought the hotel from Royal Bank of Scotland in what is believed to be the largest hotel deal in Europe this year.

The hotel had previously been under offer to its operator Guoman, but the deal fell through.
