With Manchester’s heritage becoming even more iconic with films like Supersonic, the Hacienda orchestral revival and of course the bees, and not forgetting the global brands of Manchester United and Manchester City, UK-wide and international clients want the full Mancunian experience.
Many southern-based clients are considering Manchester as the location for their event, even factoring in transport; the city allows clients to really go to town on their programme because the overall cost is considerably less than London.
International clients are drawn by the two football club’s brands. They feel they can show their clients the whole of Manchester over a short time where as in London they may only see a part of it.
The diverse nature of the venues across the city offers clients excellent choice. Alternative venues are symbolic of the city. For example, we may base our clients at The Lowry but hold their dinner at Manchester Cathedral, lunch at Manchester House and the main conference at Manchester Central. With easy access from the airport; train stations and plenty of parking it’s an easy place to get to.
If the event programme wants to reach outside of the city centre even taking in activities in Trafford or Media City, everything is reachable within 20 minutes.
There are also many Manchester-themed experiences such as the Northern Soul Music Tour; The Principal Hotel history tour and there is a Manchester walking tour that can be included in a programme.
There are some big names on offer, too. Recently we booked Gary Neville as a speaker, Gary Barlow as entertainment and Vernon Kay as a host.
It’s exciting to place a celebrity connection to an event, adding a gloss for social media and offering a memorable moment for guests.
When it comes to food and drink we have often taken world famous Manchester classics and refined them to suit the delegates.
Think Boddingtons in mini pint glasses, Vimto cocktails, and mini homemade Eccles cakes served with Lancashire cheese, we have even offered Betty’s Hot Pot and Roys Rolls.
We often suggest to clients that they offer delegates the opportunity to extend their stay post event for leisure, particularly if the event ends on a Friday.
Manchester is not just an event location for North West businesses; it’s a place of choice for the both British and international clients.
