The Local Government Association is to hold its annual conference and exhibition at Manchester Central in 2013.
The event for the lobbying organisation, which represents over 400 local authorities from across the UK, is expected to attract 1,400 delegates to the city between 2 and 4 July.
Visit Manchester’s MD Paul Simpson said the prestigious event was a coup for the city. “The success of the recent Labour and Conservative party conferences in Manchester has really increased our profile on the conference map and that helps us to generate even more conference business for the city. I’m sure the LGA will be more than impressed with what Manchester has to offer.”
The Local Government Association was established in 1997 as the voice of local government in the national arena. It is a voluntary membership body which lobbies and campaigns for changes in policy and legislation on behalf of member councils and the communities they serve.
