Hotel group Marriott International has rolled out its first Gothere Virtual Meetings studios at its New York Marriott East Side Hotel, Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and the Cisco offices in London, with plans to expand to 25 hotels globally in its first phase.
Marriott says its corporate customers told the company “they would hold more productive, small meetings at its hotels if an appealing virtual meeting option was available”.
The service enables groups to meet in multiple locations worldwide in real time by combining high-definition video and real time audio.
“The service will offer our customers a new way to hold more productive, collaborative meetings linking locations around the world, and open up new revenue opportunities for our hotels,” says COO for the Americas Eastern Region at Marriott International, David Marriott.
The next hotels to offer the service will be London’s Grosvenor House, JW Marriott Hong Kong; Renaissance Sao Paulo, JW Marriott Marquis Miami, Renaissance Washington, DC, Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway, JW Marriott San Francisco and Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Marriott with more to follow.
“In an increasingly interconnected business world, companies of all sizes are seeking the ability to hold a more internal and client meetings across the globe,” says executive VP for global strategy and transformation, AT&T Business Solutions, Bill Archer.
