Scout Conference Centres are part of the Programme and Development Directorate which is responsible for the following areas; Youth Programme, Adult Support, Development, Activities, International and National Centres which includes Scout Activity Centres, Estate Services and Conference Centres.
The Association has two Scout Conference Centres, one based in Baden-Powell House and is a superb, purpose-built conference centre catering for parties of between two and 300 people, centrally located in South Kensington, London. And the other based at our clients Head Office, based at Gilwell Park, Chingford, London.
Position: Sales Executive
Location: Gilwell Park, Chingford with occasional days working at Baden Powell House, South Kensington
Salary: Basic salary £25,749 per annum including outer London weighting rising to £28,710 per annum plus benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) The Sales Executive will be working directly with the Head of Sales and Marketing National Centres to develop sales opportunities and initiatives in line with existing marketing plans.
b) Developing relationships with Centre Managers to identify local sales opportunities and initiatives to drive new business opportunities to the Centres.
c) Establish key supplier relationships with booking agencies, event management companies and training providers.
d) Develop plans and strategies to attract increased sales enquiries at our clients Centres.
e) Develop effective relationships within the local business community that generate interest and sales opportunities at the Centres.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Sound knowledge of sales techniques and working practices ideally from within the Hotel, Conference or event markets.
b) Proven experience of generating sales opportunities and new business.
c) Excellent ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels within and outside of Scouting.
d) Possess good planning and organisational skills
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) Previous experience working within in role selling Conferences, Exhibitions or events is highly desirable.
