Tourism minister John Glen last week said he wanted to cement Britain’s position as one of the leading countries in the world for hosting major business events. Glen was speaking at a reception at One Great George Street on the eve of the Business of Events Leadership Forum, held at the QEII Centre in London on 3 November.
The minister told the audience he was giving “a firm commitment that if there’s anything I can do to get my colleagues to help you win business, I will do it. I’m not just here to make up the numbers.”
VisitBritain and key government partners also reaffirmed their commitment to grow Britain’s business events industry to senior leaders at the 3 November meeting.
